About Us

Hi, my name is Mac, I founded the Heatham Alliance community group last year and membership is now headed for 400 strong, and it’s free to join.

About Us

  • Heatham Alliance gives the Twickenham community the real facts concerning developments which affect our neighbourhood.
  • Heatham Alliance campaigns on specific issues such as the Rugby World Cup later this year and minimising the impact of redevelopment plans for the Richmond upon Thames College site in Twickenham.
  • Heatham Alliance actively supports a successful, much-needed new secondary school for Twickenham, as well as new accommodation for RuT College and Clarendon school, but not at any price.
  • We are strongly opposed to the scheme put forward by RuT College and Richmond Council for a large new housing estate, sending the additional traffic via Whitton Road and its narrow side streets.
  • Their aim is to maximise the development value of the land and minimise the costs of the scheme, at the expense of the local community.
  • Heatham Alliance is also a Neighbourhood Watch, working closely with our Safer Neighbourhoods policing team and with several other community groups in the TW1 and TW2 areas.

Our Mission

  • To minimise the impact of the REEC proposals on the local community
  • To safeguard the free public access to the college’s field in Craneford Way and
  • To improve public safety on routes to and from the proposed campus.
